One of the most popular tourist destinations in Granada is the Alhambra, a Moorish citadel and palace built mostly in the mid-13th century. It is one of the most famous Moorish citadels in Spain and a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1984.
We reserved our tickets for the Alhambra one month before our trip, and still were not able to get tickets to see the Nasrid Palaces. They really do sell out that far in advance. Even so, it was still worth the visit to walk through the Alcazaba (the military area of the complex) and the Generalife – a recreation area for the Kings of Granada to escape from the hardships of royalty. It sure was good to be the King.
There’s not much else I can add that hasn’t already been said in thousands of travel articles. I’ll just let these images speak for themselves.
