Jill’s Urban Food Crawls now on GPSmyCity

It’s no secret that food crawls are one of my favorite ways to explore a new city. I started this blog to share those experiences and often thought it would be great if my readers could download these crawls to really get some use out of them. Starting today, you can!

I’m working with GPSmyCity to publish some of my articles as mobile travel article apps available on iTunes, making it really easy to take them with you on your own food crawl. Travel article apps are a new way to download and read travel articles on your iPhone or iPad (Android apps are still under development). GPSmyCity works with travel writers from all over the world to turn their work into apps for walking tours. They have articles for over 600 cities worldwide and are constantly adding more, with tours including historic attractions, museums, shopping, architecture and, of course, restaurants.

These travel articles can all be read for free and saved for offline reading later. If you want to be able to follow along on a map with turn by turn directions, the apps can be used in coordination with your phone’s GPS for a small upgrade fee of $1.99 for each article. The best thing about this upgraded navigation feature is that it works offline, even in locations where there is no cell signal or if you are in a country where you don’t have a data plan. Just make sure you download the apps before your trip.

Do you want to give it a try? For my debut on GPSmyCity, we are offering FREE upgrades of the following articles from Jill’s Urban Food Crawls for the next week (August 8- August 14). These are three of my favorite articles, so I’m excited to have them available for you to take the app for a trial run.

Historic Downtown Frederick Food Crawl
Pinchos and Tapas in Valencia’s Old Town
14th Street Food Crawl

To get your free upgraded article app, click on the link for the article(s) you are interested in. You will then be prompted to download the free GPSmyCity App.

After downloading the app, you will be directed to the article, where you can then choose UPGRADE for free. Have fun exploring the travel article app and let me know what you think!

In addition to these three promotional apps, the following Jill’s Urban Food Crawl articles are also available on GPSmyCity to save and read for free, or upgrade for $1.99* for offline GPS navigation.

Red Line East Metro Food Crawl
Orange Line Metro Food Crawl
Red Line West Metro Food Crawl
Green Line NW Metro Food Crawl
Food Crawling Through Charleston
Malaga: Restaurants in the City
Tapas in Granada, Spain

*Note that when you purchase an upgrade of one of my travel articles through GPSmyCity, I will receive a few cents of the purchase price through iTunes.
