The summer travel season is here, which means that all of Valencia is either heading to the beach for the sun or north for cooler temperatures. Everyone seems to be going somewhere! The city center may have emptied of locals, but it’s filling with visitors from all over the world. In 2017 Spain was the second most visited country in the world. Just in time for summer, two more of my Spanish food travel articles are now available as downloadable travel article apps on GPSmyCity.
A few years ago I began partnering with GPSmyCity to convert my articles into a downloadable format that you can use to take your own self-guided tour. The GPSmyCity app is free to download and allows you to save and read travel articles from over 1,000 cities worldwide on your mobile phone or tablet. Each article includes a detailed map with points of interest marked. Upgraded versions of the apps can be used for offline navigation in coordination with your phone’s GPS. The best thing about this upgraded navigation feature is that it works without a cell signal or a data plan. Just make sure you download the articles and walking tours before your trip while you still have internet access.
There are now two ways to use GPSmyCity for offline navigation:
1) You can pay an upgrade fee of $1.99 per individual article.
We are offering a FREE upgrade to the article app “Tapas in Barcelona’s Old Town” for one week from July 2 until July 8, 2018. To get your free upgraded article app, click on the link for the article below. You will then be prompted to download the free GPSmyCity App. After downloading the app, you will be directed to the article, where you can then choose UPGRADE for free.
2) GPSmyCity Annual Subscription
You can now buy an annual subscription to all travel articles for $12.99/year OR $18.99/year for full access to all walking tours + travel articles.
I’ve partnered with GPSmyCity to give away FREE one-year subscriptions (each worth $18.99) to ten of our readers. For a chance to win, leave a comment on my Facebook page or in the comment section below telling about your most memorable meal while traveling in the past year, or the food that you are dreaming about during an upcoming trip.
Here, I’ll go first! For example, on a recent trip to Castilla y Leon we had stewed frog legs in a rich paprika-laden sauce that I’m still thinking about, OR I could mention that we are heading to Oporto, Portugal in September and I hear they have an incredible sandwich called a Francesinha that I can’t wait to get my hands on!
So tell me, what food traveling experience are you thinking about? Closing date for entries is July 8, 2018. Winners will be notified by email with instructions to claim their prize.
